Have you ever wanted to make your own taco seasoning mix? I have been wanting to make my own for a while now. Thought it would be a great way to control how much salt was added. Anyways, I have a recipe to share with you. This recipe is for homemade taco seasoning mix. Hope you enjoy!
Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix Recipe
1 tsp Black Pepper
1/2 tsp Paprika
1/2 tsp Corn Starch
1 tbsp Chili Powder
1 1/2 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Oregano
1/4 tsp Brown Sugar (optional)
1/4 tsp Cayenne (optional for more heat)
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Onion Powder
1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
Mix all together and store in a dry container or spice jar until you are ready to use. Then when you are ready to make tacos you dump all in with 1/2 cup water and 1-2 lb browned and drained ground meat. Let cook for a few mintues until the water cooks down.
If you want you can double or triple the recipe and store it. Then just use as needed. That will save you the trouble of mixing it up each time.
