Should Biscuits Touch or not Touch When Cooking?
I question I have been asked often over my baking years is if you should allow biscuits to touch each other or not when baking. It can go either way and just depends on how you like your biscuits as everyone is different. I will go over what the difference is if they touch or not when baking.
Biscuits Touching:
If you have your biscuits touching while baking you will end up with a taller puffier biscuit. This is how I prefer mine when eating as a side or as a sandwich.
However, the edges will not be as golden or crunchy all the way around.
Biscuits Not Touching:
When baked with them not touching they will not be as tall or puffy. But the edges will be more crispy all the way around as well as more golden all the way around the whole biscuit.
This is the way I like to cook them if I will be serving them under something like gravy. That way you don’t end up with as soggy of a biscuit.
How To Make These Biscuits:
Grab the biscuits from the freezer. No need to thaw them as we will bake them right from being frozen.
Place them on the vinted tray of the air fryer. If you have issues with things sticking to your tray you can lightly grease it. I don’t have to with the one I use.
Place them touching but not stacking if you want a taller biscuit or space them so they don’t touch if you want it slightly later with a more crunchy edge.
Place the tray in the air fryer. I put mine in the center rack.
Cook for 16 minutes at 300 degrees.
When done remove from the air fryer and serve right away.
These turn out perfect every time! Cook just a few for a single serving or more as needed.
