What To Do With Snow

As someone who lives in Central New York, every winter we have no shortage of snow. Most winters we do not get snow by inches but more by feet. Other then all the shoveling and clearing, did you know there are other things you can do with it? As I have been blogging today I have had a view out my window of snow falling all day, that is when I thought I would share some tips and ideas of what to do with snow.

First off you can make REAL snow cones. Find a clean area where no one has walked and is white and fluffy. Scoop into a cup or dish packing with your hands. Top with super concentrated Kool-Aid mixture and enjoy.

How about making some snow ice cream?! It is always a nice fun treat to make and to eat! You simply mix 1 cup milk, 1/2 tsp. vanilla (or any flavoring you would like) and 1/2 cups sugar. Mix until the sugar is fully dissolved. (Tip for this is heat a 1/4 cup milk in the microwave and then mix sugar into that. After dissolved add the rest). Now slowly add 5 or 7 cups of clean fluffy snow. Stir constantly until you have a ice cream consistency.

This one is always fun to do with the kiddos. You can take a spray bottle and mix water and food coloring in it to paint the snow. Make sure the mixture is concentrated so that it will cover the now well. Head out side and become the artiest that you are. You can turn the white winter into bright and colorful.

When you think of what to do with snow, there are always the normal things too. Like building a snowman. Having a snowball fight or even building a snow fort. I have also seen people make some amazing snow sculptors, just like you would from sand.

So if someone asked you what to do with snow, what would you say is you favorite idea? How do you have fun in the winter?
