Coffee Creamer Container Reuse Idea

So tonight when I was making dinner and opened a new box of potato flakes, I got to thinking. Why do they not make the bags with a zipper seal? I mean the one that comes with them now, you can roll the bag down and tuck it back in the box when you are done. But does that really keep it fresh? The same thing applies to rice and sugar or any other dry food items in your pantry. So I got to thinking of what I could reuse to store it.

After thinking long and hard, I came up with an idea! Why not use empty powder coffee creamer containers to keep them fresh?? I mean it is a plastic container that is already safe to have food in it, and all you would have to do is rinse it out and let dry. Then fill it up with potato flakes, rice, sugar or what ever you may need to store. It even has a pour top making it easy to use when you need it. Now you have a safe dry container to keep your ingredients fresh, and you are recycling all at the same time! So easy and simple right!?

I love when you can find such a simple solution, to things you really need. I just wish I would have thought of this sooner…lol. Now that I know that I can reuse these containers like this, I will be saving them all up and finding all kinds of things to store in them. Do you have any simple tips or things that you reuse that would like to share with the rest of us? If so please feel free to leave them in the comments below. I am looking forward to hearing them!
