Slow Cooker Recipe: Chocolate Cake With Raspberry Chocolate Topping

Did you know that you can make a cake in a slow cooker? You can! Some may be wondering why you would want to do that. Well it makes it great for if you want to have a cake to go with dinner, but don’t have time to stay by the oven. It also would be handy for when you do not have an oven around, maybe while camping. Anyways I thought I would share the slow cooker recipe I just made. This does use a boxed cake mix with a few other goodies added to it.

Ingredients:
1 Super Moist Chocolate Cake Mix
3 Eggs
1/2 Cup Oil
1 1/4 Cup Water
Non Stick Cooking Spray
1/2 Cup Raspberry Preserves
1/2 Cup Chocolate Sauce

Directions:
In large mixing bowl, mix eggs, water, oil together. In small mixing bowl, mix the chocolate sauce and preserves. Now spray the bottom and sides of the slow cooker with the non stick spray. Pour most of the cake mixture into the greased slow cooker. Now using a spoon, put half of the chocolate preserve mixture on top the batter. You can not get it evenly, so just to little spoonfuls all around. Now with the remainder of the cake batter cover it over. Cook on high for 3 hours. Slow cookers can vary in heat, so it may take a little less or a little more for yours. When it is done it will slightly pull away from the sides and the center will be firm.

Cut a slice and drizzle some of the remaining chocolate sauce mixture over the top. Enjoy! This is good warm or when it has cooled.
