Slow Cooker Root Beer Chicken Recipe

I love to cook using m slow cooker. It just makes things so much easier. You can just toss everything in, turn it on and leave it. Then by dinner time it is ready! Well if you are looking for a good recipe to try in your slow cooker, you should try out my Slow Cooker Root Beer Chicken Recipe. It uses very few ingredients, simple to make and SUPER yummy! This one would even work great for say a Super Bowl party. You could let it cook all day and then by the time the game starts, it is ready to eat. If you would like to give it a try, this is what you do.

What You Need

Ingredients:
1/2 Tsp. Salt
1/2 Tsp. Pepper
1 Cup Root Beer (We love A&W but you can use any brand)
2 lbs Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
1 Tbsp. onion Powder
1 Tbsp. Garlic Powder
2 Tsp. Chili Powder
1 Cup Barbecue Sauce (Used Sweet Baby Ray’s, but any brand will do)

Cooking

Directions:
Start by combining all dry ingredients and then sprinkle the mixture on each chicken breast. Now place the coated chicken in the slow cooker. Dump in Root Beer and barbecue sauce. Let it cook on the low heat setting for 6-8 hours. Pull the chicken out and shred it (two forks works well for this), then return to sauce and let cook for another 30 minutes. Serve on your favorite bun or roll and enjoy! This also pairs well with a little coleslaw on the side and maybe a few chips.
