Next, find out what day they have their gas sale. Most gas stations have one day out of the week where they drop the price of fuel for that day. After you figure out what day of the week it is, always buy gas on that day. Depending on how much you have to drive and the type of vehicle you drive, this should be able to last you the week. Or at least the best part of the week anyways. Unless you have to have more the one tank of gas a week, try to ONLY buy it on those sale days.
Another great way to save money at the gas pump, is to take advantage of fuel discounts from your local grocery stores. Most grocery stores have teamed up with a local gas station. They offer cents off per gallon of gas for select items yo buy each week. When you do your shopping and are getting your coupons ready, try to include any good deals that also offer cents off per gallon. Sometimes this can even mean buying gift cards to the grocery store or even the gas station.
Always make sure to keep up with maintenance on your car. By keeping the tires to the proper inflation and and changing air filters when they need to be, you will get the most miles out of your gas.
To get the BEST bang for your buck, combine all these tips together! If you are a member and already get a discount, then combine it with the gas sale day, you get the most off. Well then you combine that with gas discounts you earn from shopping for groceries, you just turned what was a few pennies off to BIG savings!
